No Bake Chocolate Nests

An Easter treat that all the family can help make (and eat!!). These beautifully simple rice krispie treats are the perfect reminder to spend some family time together in the kitchen.

I love plenty of chocolate on my rice krispie buns so I use a ratio of 2:1 chocolate to rice krispies, feel free to use whatever chocolate you prefer, white chocolate would make for a real sophisticated chocolate nest!

Makes 14-16

Ingredients
180g Melted chocolate
80g Rice krispies
Chocolate eggs (I used one 100g bag of  Micro Chocolate Eggs  from Tesco)
Bun paper cases
12 hole bun tray x 2

Method
Line the two bun trays with paper cases and set aside. Melt the chocolate in a large heatproof bowl over a barely simmering saucepan of water, alternatively melt the chocolate in the microwave on FULL in a microwave proof bowl for 30 second intervals, stir between each interval. Once the chocolate has melted add the rice krispies to the bowl and carefully stir without crushing the rice krispies, coating each rice puff with a generous layer of chocolate.
I prefer to add the rice krispies to the chocolate rather than the other way round as it stops the chocolate from setting too quickly. Moving quickly at this point, spoon roughly a tablespoon of the chocolate mix into the prepared paper cases, creating a dip in each nest with the back of the spoon. Drop the chocolate eggs into the nest before the chocolate sets and refrigerate for 30-90 minutes until firm. Serve and enjoy!
