St. Patrick's Day Milkshake
Now lets be clear here, it's not as if we've been killing ourselves with spelling tests, Irish reading and history projects, last week was a four day week -with the school being closed for the election - the previous week was mid term and prior to that we had a snow day!
This will be a short but productive few weeks before the Easter holidays, the annual make an Easter Bonnet will kick off next week and every imaginable craft pertaining to Shamrocks will start coming home in their school bags :)
With all this patriotism in mind I thought that the children could have a bit of St.Patrick's day fun in the kitchen -these milkshakes are so easy to make!
Making milkshakes has been a bit of a thing here recently, vanilla is always a favourite but we have recently ventured into chocolate and banana territory and it is a huge favourite too.
I would regard this recipe as more of a guide, add more ice-cream if you want a thicker milkshake -see who gets brain freeze first- or feel free to increase the peppermint flavouring. It is all a matter of taste but more importantly it's about having fun together!
Serves 1
Ingredients
75g -100g Vanilla Ice-cream
150ml Full fat milk
3-4 Drops green food colouring
1-2 Drops of peppermint food flavouring
Whipped cream
Green Sprinkles (optional)
Method
Place the ice-cream, milk, food colouring and peppermint flavour into a liquidiser and blend until smooth or -like I did - place the ingredients into a tall beaker and blend with a hand blender. Pour your creamy milkshake into your serving glass, top with a cloud of whipped cream and some sprinkles. Enjoy!
