Christmas Tree Brownies
Tis' the season to eat, drink and be merry! These Christmas Tree Brownies are the best and the easiest season treat to make but oh so impressive! So if you really want to wow your family and friends then let the baking begin :)
Serves 12
Ingredients
20 x 30cm Donal Skehan Brownie Recipe
150g Icing sugar
1-2 tbsp Water
Sprinkles
Equipment
Long blade knife
Piping bag*
Small round icing tip
*If you haven't an icing bag or tip, any good quality freezer food bag will do just as well, fill the bag and snip a small hole at the corner of the bag.
Method
Make the brownies according to the recipe and allow to cool completely.
Using a long bladed knife cut the brownies in half lengthways, then proceed to cut each half into six triangle shapes (pictured above). Any cut offs are to be enjoyed by the baker with a large smile and a mug of coffee!
Mix the icing sugar and 1tbsp of water together in a small bowl, the consistency of the icing should be bordering on the slightly stiff side of things, too runny and it will run off the brownies. If your icing is too stiff then add the second tablespoon of water.
Fit the piping bag with the round nozzle and fill with the icing. Pipe a zig zag line from top to bottom on each brownie.
Sprinkle each brownie with your chosen sprinkles before the icing sets.
